Position: DPhil Student
I am primarily interested in owls, especially endangered species in the United States. I have focused my academic career on the study of various owls and continuing the research from my Master’s degree on the northern spotted owl into my DPhil here in Oxford, I will be exploring alternatives to current management practices to find methods of restoring wild populations to historic numbers. My main goal is to find ways of assisting the adaptation of the owls to urban environments since a main reason for decline is the loss of old growth habitat from logging. I am part of the Ethno-ornithology group within the Edward Grey Institute. My doctoral research is supervised by Professor Andrew G. Gosler.
